Sexual Violence Awareness Training

This engaging workshop enables travelers to protect themselves against the threat of sexual violence whilst overseas. It builds the capacity of participants to respond to sexually motivated violent crime.

The workshop focuses on the individual (rather than the organisation). It supports participants by reducing their vulnerability to sexual violence, educating them about the behavioral patterns of sexual predators.

We explore the various response options that remain open to a person under attack and the potential consequences of those options. We finish the day looking at how best to support a survivor of sexual violence and how that survivor might come to terms with life after an attack.

This 1-day learning programme is delivered jointly by a member of the ILS training team and a clinical psychologist. The course was developed with support from Report the Abuse.

It sensitively deals with the very difficult subject matter at hand but empowers delegates to live and work safely, knowing how to respond to an attack and support survivors.
